Killing Floor 3 (KF3) is the new third main installment in the co-op zombie/infected shooter series by Tripwire Interactive. With the first chapter born in 2005 as a total overhaul of the classic Unreal Tournament 2004, it launched as a retail version in 2009, receiving a great response and interest from zombie shooter fans.

This led to the sequel KF2 on PC in 2015, revamping the formula with a more action-packed approach and achieving huge success. With many fans eager for a third installment, it was announced at Gamescom 2023. The initial launch was planned for March 2025, but strong critical feedback led the team to postpone the game to a new date. Killing Floor 3 Stress Test Announced: When and How to Participate

With the new launch date set for July 24th, the Tripwire Interactive team is announcing a new Stress Test. Confirming, as many fans expected, a new chance to try out the new chapter before its launch. The team confirms the new stress test on Steam for this Sunday, July 13, 2025, which is:

  • Session 1: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM PT / 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM ET / 19:00 – 21:00 CET
  • Session 2: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM ET / 23:00 – 1:00 AM July 14 CET

This offers 2 sessions of about 2 hours each to try KF3 ahead of the launch. To participate, simply visit the Killing Floor 3 page on Steam and Request Access. Once requested, if you are selected, you will receive a notification and be enabled to download the game.

 

Killing Floor 3: What’s the Latest News

The Stress Test will serve to test the game’s network. The team is aware of some issues with the game, including performance stability, some Zed behaviors, and player movements. These will be fixed with priority before the launch.

Meanwhile, the team reconfirms some of the post-launch features already on the way. These were already shared with the community on their official channels in response to the feedback and criticism that led to the first delay. Specifically:

  • Nightfall Specialist characters can choose any Perk.
  • Improvements to third-person movement and animations.
