REMATCH is the football-themed sports game developed by the team at Sloclap, the Parisian indie studio known mainly for the solid 2017 title Absolver, and the famous SIFU from 2022. This time, they’re surprising many with a sports game that promises to revolutionize the 5-a-side football experience.

The game was officially announced at The Game Awards 2024 and confirmed for release in June 2025. It offers a 5-a-side football experience in a virtual arcade-style arena, with the game co-published by Kepler Interactive, coming soon to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. REMATCH: Available Today

Today marks the official launch of REMATCH, the new title from the indie team at Sloclap. The game was announced at TGA 2024 with the reveal of its release date following strong feedback from the April Playtest. Now, finally available today on June 19, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

The game has received strong feedback from the Early Access starting on June 17, 2025. The reveal trailer showcases the game in action, along with the golden rules to win the match. Expect a colorful and original 5v5 arcade football experience.

 

REMATCH: Gameplay and Main Features

REMATCH is an ambitious project designed to offer fast-paced football matches where the action never stops. Offering an arcade-style football experience that rewards players’ individual skills, without relying on stats. So, here’s what it offers:

  • A New Football Experience: With a third-person perspective where each player controls their own virtual avatar. Team play and tactics will lead to victory.

  • Online Experience: A multiplayer experience designed mainly for online play, with 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 matches. Plus, ranked 5v5 modes to climb the leaderboards, as well as seasonal content with cosmetic items and new game modes.

The team celebrated the game’s Early Access launch with a special tournament. Content creators from around the world faced off in 5-player teams. The tournament took place on June 17, 2025 and was won by the French team led by KametoTV.
