After years of anticipation and a (short) delayed release date, Dune: Awakening is finally locked in and arriving very soon. So soon, in fact, that if you’ve grabbed the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition, your journey into the sands of Arrakis begins tomorrow. Yes, the long wait is nearly over.
Dune Awakening Preload Now Live
Dune: Awakening will officially launch on June 10th, but players with Deluxe or Ultimate Editions get a head start with early access beginning tomorrow, June 5th.
While there are two different unlock dates, preloading is available for everyone starting today, no matter which edition you’ve purchased. So if you want to jump into the game the moment it unlocks, it’s a good idea to get that preload started now.
But before you hit the download button, make sure your PC can handle it. Funcom has released the updated system requirements, ranging from minimum to ultra settings.
Funcom also announced that private servers will be available right from the start of early access. Originally planned as a post-launch feature, the team managed to get them up and running ahead of schedule. This means players who want to host their own version of Arrakis, whether for smaller groups, specific rule sets, or community events, can do so starting June 5th.
