Titan Quest II (TQ2) is the new installment in the isometric action RPG series from THQ Nordic. The series started back in 2006 as a Diablo-style action RPG that took us to antiquity, through the mythology and gods of ancient Greece, Egypt, and China, along with the Titan Quest: Immortal Throne expansion in 2007. This was followed by 3 more expansions from 2017 to 2021.
A highly anticipated sequel, officially announced in 2023, was entrusted to the Grimlore Games team. However, it faced some development delays, ultimately pushing it to 2025. Titan Quest II – The Roadmap for the Mythological Action RPG Revealed
With the conclusion of the first week of Titan Quest II‘s launch, THQ Nordic and Grimlore Games are sharing some big news. Following a huge success of TQ2‘s Early Access, with over 300,000 copies sold in less than 3 days. They finally revealed the game’s Roadmap on August 8, 2025.
They shared what we can expect from TQ2 in the coming months. Reiterating the confirmation of Major Updates on a cycle of every 3 months. These will be accompanied by various more frequent minor updates for bug fixes, improvements, and balancing, as well as some dedicated to multiplayer. Specifically, the upcoming Major Updates are:
- Content: New Chapter
- Feature: Character Creator
- System: New Mastery
- 2026: Various updates still to be confirmed, but with new chapters, enemies, bosses, quests, and localizations

Titan Quest II FAQ: Upcoming Content and Features
Along with the presentation of this first Roadmap, the team is also answering numerous community questions. These are mainly focused on the features and content for the immediate future of the Early Access. In particular, we have:
- Why Early Access: EA allows the team to constantly improve the formula with fan feedback, especially in a very competitive action RPG genre in recent years.
- The Cost and Microtransactions: The price will increase from EUR/USD 29.99 to 49.99 with the official launch. They confirmed the absence of microtransactions like loot boxes, but there will be DLCs and expansion passes.
- Release Date and Consoles: Depending on the development in Early Access, the expected release date is for the end of 2026. The official launch will see its debut on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
- Regarding Multiplayer: Currently available as a preview, the team will expand and improve the experience with both major updates and minor patches.
Specifically on the topic of Multiplayer, the team confirms they will reveal a dedicated Roadmap for the mode. This is certainly one of the most exciting pieces of news for long-time fans of the series. You’ll be able to play with up to 4 players in co-op, with a preview mode that is still quite limited and unpolished.
