It received strong interest from the community thanks to its survival gameplay, getting a standalone version in 2009.

Following the Early Access launch of the second chapter in 2015, with a more action-oriented gameplay loop, it became a huge success as a co-op title. And the official announcement of KF3 at Gamescom 2023 came with an initial launch date of March 2025, but it was postponed to July after feedback from the first Playtest. Killing Floor 3 – Release Date and Time

After the delay and the new date revealed in May, today finally marks the launch of Killing Floor 3. With Tripwire Interactive‘s co-op survival shooter bringing us back once again to face the hordes of Zeds. With the game available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC starting today, on:

Killing Floor 3: Gameplay and Main Features

KF3 builds on the core formula of the second chapter, bringing numerous new additions to the gameplay. All built on Unreal Engine 5 with extensive use of Global Illumination, giving a more realistic and terrifying touch to the locations, especially the nighttime ones. On the gameplay side, it offers:

  • Specialist System: The biggest change, assigning class abilities to various characters. Offering 3 Skill Trees per character, creating playstyles suited to your own.
  • Even More Fearsome Zeds: The Zeds will also get a visual update, as well as new abilities and attacks to show off. With the return of the “basic” Zeds, but also the ever-present Fleshpound, Scrake, and New Bosses.
  • Weapon Customization: Offering a new weapon customization system. With various attachments to unlock using resources earned at the end of a match. Providing progression for weapons as well as skills.
