Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is the new updated version of SEGA’s classic Virtua Fighter 5. VF5 Revo was developed by the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio team and released in early 2025 on PC to good feedback. It’s an enhanced version of the classic VF5 with modern features. We’re talking rollback netcode, resolutions up to 4K, and high-resolution textures.
The SEGA team announced back in May that the title would also be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. This was later confirmed with the World Stage update, which brings some new goodies and also cross-play between the various platforms. Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage – Release Date Confirmed
Straight from E.V.O. 2025, the team at SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio are bringing some Virtua Fighter-themed news. They’ve finally revealed the release date for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage. This is the updated version of VF5 Revo that introduces new gameplay features and marks its debut on consoles.
World Stage will launch on October 30, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. However, the Nintendo Switch 2 version will take a bit more time and will be released later. Meanwhile, the publisher confirms that owners of the base REVO on PS4 will be able to get a paid upgrade to World Stage on PS5 for $9.99. The update, however, will be free on Steam.
New Features in World Stage and the Latest on Virtua Fighter
World Stage brings a ton of cool new stuff to VF5 Revo. Specifically, we’ll see the debut of the multiplatform Cross-Play feature. You’ll be able to compete with players from all over the world, on your favorite platform. Plus, the legendary Dural will make her debut as a playable character. And there’s the new mode that gives the version its name. That is:
- World Stage: A new Single Player mode that throws you into a real worldwide tournament. You’ll face powerful opponents, including some based on renowned competitive players. All this comes with a Leaderboard to climb.
But there’s more news about the series from E.V.O. 2025. With a new showcase for the next chapter in the Virtua Fighter series. It’s all set in Training Mode and shows an interesting version of Akira Yuki facing off against the much-talked-about Stella (not Sarah). It’s been confirmed that more detailed news is coming at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 in September.
