Peak Gets Its First Major Update, Takes Players To Sandy Terrain With Spiders

One of this year’s breakout hits, Peak, has just received its first major update. After traversing the alpine, now Aggro Crabs and Landfall will take us on an adventure through sandy terrain under the scorching sun. Welcome to the desert with the Mesa update!

Peak has had an incredible 2 months with massive commercial and critical success. Since then, the devs have even improved the game adding features most asked for by fans like the Pause option in offline mode. Little did we know that during this time too, they were preparing for a major update on the game which adds a new biome, new badges, and new items to keep the adventure fresh and exciting.
Today, August 12th, Aggro Crabs deployed the game’s first major update, Mesa Update. This will temporarily replace the Alpine in every run for the next week. After that, it will rotate with the Alpine randomly.
Mesa takes players into a desert-looking map where there are 10 new badges to collect. With this new climate, new items will be needed too like Balloons, Scout Cannon, Parasol, Sunscreen, Aloe Vera and Dynamite. Oh and there’s a tornado in it also!
And what kind of desert is it without its sand-and-sand-loving creatures? Yep, arachnids and other creepy crawlers are present too. But the team also understands that there is real phobia with this so they came prepared with a new “Bug Phobia Mode” designed specifically for those who can’t stand these creatures.
The Mesa Update feels like a very well thought of update for the game. Unfortunately, it is possible that this update is the last for quite some time. According to the dev team, they are not sure yet if they’ll follow this update just yet. In the end, they don’t want to promise and hype anything and not deliver. Fair enough.
