What a month July is for Xbox Game Pass. Well, the year actually so far. A total of 17 titles were on the lineup for July and today, the service just welcomed its final day-one launch for the month. It’s not on full release but with how massive Grounded 2 is, its Game Preview version already offers hours of playtime.
Grounded 2 Joins Grounded On Xbox Game Pass
Grounded 2 is now available to play on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Cloud via Xbox Game Pass for Ultimate and PC members. It joins its award-winning prequel, Grounded, in the library. So for those who never got around to getting into this tiny big world, Game Pass can let you play both games without additional cost.
The game is still on Game Preview so players can expect some issues. But hey, even full release games get that.
Alongside the launch, Obsidian also released an Early Access roadmap detailing their plans for the next year and beyond. The game is about to get even bigger with the first content update already dropping Fall this year.

Grounded 2 shrinks players down to insect size, turning an ordinary backyard into a massive world of danger and discovery. Players must scavenge resources, build and ride insect companions called buggies, and adapt their strategy using unique archetypes with specialized skills. These buggies help in combat and gathering, while the environment hides secrets that grow darker and more threatening the deeper you explore. The game officially launched on July 29, 2025 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
