World of Warcraft: Midnight stars at Gamescom 2025 with a Cinematic Trailer, Deepdive, and hands-on with Player Housing!

World of Warcraft: Midnight (WoW) is the new upcoming expansion for Blizzard’s famous MMORPG. Specifically, it’s the eleventh expansion and the second chapter of the Worldsoul Saga. Following The War Within from 2024, its development was confirmed to be in parallel since 2023, as confirmed in the BlizzCon Q&A.

It’s a saga the team hopes to wrap up before 2030. This was followed by a teaser in November 2024 that confirmed the arrival of the long-awaited Player Housing along with other new features. World of Warcraft: Midnight – Cinematic Trailer Confirmed for Gamescom 2025

We’re just a few days away from Gamescom 2025, the highly anticipated and famous gaming convention held in Cologne, Germany. For the 2025 edition, as many publishers and devs have confirmed, there will be lots of surprises. And even Geoff Keighley is reminding us about the upcoming news.

Geoff is returning as the host of Opening Night Live on 19 August 2025. And he’s reminding us about the reveal of World of Warcraft: Midnight, with a world premiere of the Cinematic Trailer. He’s reminding us to tune in on 19 August at 20:00 CEST / 2:00 pm ET / 11:00 am PT.

 

WoW Midnight at Gamescom – New Details and Hands-On

WoW will therefore be one of the main stars of Gamescom. Not just with the Cinematic Trailer, but also with tons of news both from home and on-site. In fact, there will be a special Panel right after ONL. Featuring the trio of Holly Longdale (Executive Producer), Ion Hazzikostas (Senior Game Director), and Chris Metzen (Creative Director). They’ll bring a deep dive into the features, mechanics, and story of the new chapter.

But also a live Hands-On of the new Player Housing system with a demo available at Hall 8. Plus, there will be streams from various participating content creators during the Creator Clash from 20 to 22 August 2025. They will bring:

  • Player Housing Showcase
  • Creator Matches for Season 3 Mythic Dungeons & Delves
  • Cross-Region Arena with the top 4 teams from AWC Season 2
