MicroProse Software is the famous American software house and publisher. Founded in 1983 and behind some of the most famous simulation and strategy series, including Civilization and X-COM, but also Tycoon series like Sid Meier’s Railroad. However, since the early 2000s, the brand was sold by Hasbro to Infogrames.
It then passed from hand to hand, also losing the licenses for its various IPs, which were kept and then sold by Atari. But in 2018, it saw a real revival at the hands of former Bohemia Interactive developer, David Lagettie. Car Park Capital Announced: A new Tycoon game with a twist
With the start of August, the MicroProse Software team unveiled a fantastic new Tycoon-style sim management game. On 31 July 2025, they revealed Car Park Capital, a simulation and management game themed around car parks. Developed by the solo dev from Hilkojj Interactive.
Accompanied by a reveal trailer that will take us into a true Tycoon experience with a satirical tone. Where we will build, expand, and exploit unsuspecting citizens with our car parks. Creating and taking advantage of the addiction to car use. Thus creating our own paradise!.
What we know about Car Park Capital and Hilkojj Interactive
Car Park Capital presents itself as a true Tycoon simulation and management experience. Accompanied by a retro style that pays homage to the great classics of the genre. But with a strong satirical twist on the heavy dependence on cars and the impact of urban development.
A project born from Dutch solo dev Hilko Janssen in early 2023. Strongly inspired by the Rollercoaster Tycoon series and with a graphic style inspired by the 2D classics of the ’90s and 2000s. The result of a graphics engine created by Hilko himself. With 31 July 2025 marking a big step for the dev. A partnership with MicroProse Software marks the beginning of the game’s full-time development.
