Battlefield 6: A Record-Breaking First Open Beta on Steam
With the conclusion of the first weekend of the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, we’ve got some interesting news and details. The Beta saw an incredible record of players on Steam. With a peak of 521,079 players on Saturday, 9 August, according to SteamDB.
A record-breaking number that places the BF6 Beta in 18th place on the all-time chart on Steam. A full 2 spots above the peak recorded by its rival Call of Duty with the app that integrates the games with Warzone. This figure, however, includes only Steam data, missing a huge chunk of players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
This is Battlefield’s biggest Open Beta ever.

Battlefield 6 Beta: First Details on Weekend 2
This is fantastic news for the team at EA and Battlefield Studios. With some very important initial feedback from the first weekend, BF6 was received very positively by fans. And it already seems to signal a strong comeback for the series, as well as for the publisher from a financial standpoint.
EA has revealed new details coming in the second Weekend from 14-17 August 2025. This is the last chance to try the Beta, at least for the month of August. It’s also a period that will likely see an even higher peak in players, as it falls during the summer holidays. With new additions to the Weekend 1 options that offer:
- New Empire State Map: An urban infantry map set in the iconic streets of Brooklyn.
- Game Modes: With Rush and Squad Deathmatch confirmed, plus more yet to be revealed.
